Saturday

Struggled to get the JR line to Yokohama and ended up going in the wrong direction, but it was great practice for graduating
from the subway to the JR lines.  Finally in Yokohama, we got to Chinatown and it was very large.  The shops and restaurants
had a made up feel to them...without the authentic sounds, smells and tastes that are typical.  It was a Japanese interpretation
of Chinatown from the "dim sum" to roasted chestnuts and bao being sold every 10 steps, and entry gates at every street
(we counted about 5 in the parts we walked in).  If you are a C-Town fan I would skip this one.  The Japanese seemed to enjoy
every aspect and inch of it though.  The Imperial Palace in Tokyo was also missing ornate gardens like we were hoping for.

Yokohama, Chinatown

Imperial Garden
The Imperial Garden was a mixed bag with a large acreage in the middle of the city.  There was one garden within the grounds that
was very nice with a small bamboo forest and carp pond.  A few smaller cherry blossom groves and a large lawn with city skyline.
