My Parents

This is a nice picture of my Mom and Dad taken at my cousin Jan's wedding in 1999.  I have too many memories of my parents to mention but will remember the ones that stick out.  I remember giving my Mom stress.  I was a bad momma's boy.  Her only solution was to send me to Damien High School...a strict Catholic school that whipped my butt into shape.  To this day, we remark to each other what a smart move that was.  I remember my Dad taking me to the beach every Sunday when I was little...I mean every Sunday.  He would sit in his beach chair as I played on the beach for hours.  I was very tanned.  There was a summer that I was almost purple because I was so dark.  I would also bug my Dad to take me fishing.  I really enjoyed the times we spent fishing together.  I'll never forget how I once caught a hammer head shark.  Boy I struggled and the darn thing would not die.  Many of these fish came home.  I don't know where they went after I was done playing with them.  I'm sure they were dead and smelly.

Today my parents enjoy an empty nest and they take care of my sister's three kids.  That fills their time and they are busier than ever.  My Dad is a 16 handicap golfer and my Mom uses the computer more than I do. It's nice to go home and see them or have them come to the mainland to visit me here.
