Spring Break 2005

Washington D.C.

PhotoStory of Washington D.C.

First leg in our SP2005 trip was D.C. to catch the museums and monuments.  Lots of walking.  We stayed at the Club Quarters Hotel right in the city next door to the Metro stop.  We took the Metro and walked everywhere.

Orlando

Our 2nd stop in the SP2005 was to Walt Disney World in Orlando (WDW).  We stayed at the Disney Swan & Dolphin Resort.  The Swan & Dolphin was very nice, water shuttle to Epcot and nice room, "heavenly" beds and swimming pools.

Ft. Lauderdale

The last leg of our trip was 2 days in Ft. Lauderdale mainly to see the Everglades.  FL is growing rapidly as the preferred destination versus Miami.  We stayed at the Doubletree Guest Suites and again we had water taxi service to most of the FL attractions.

Everglades

Our trip to the Everglades was very interesting.  The Everglades is recovering and being managed better as an eco-tourism resource.  We saw lots of birds, plants and alligators.

Trip notes: we used Orbitz travel to arrange our multi-stop flights and Hotwire for our Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale accommodations.
For our Disney passes we got day passes that included one meal at each park.
The cost of our meals varied between $15 - $21 so the passes were very worthwhile.
